Graduated from Hacettepe medical school at 1989.Became a specialist from Internal Medicine at the same institute at 1994, and an endocrinologist at 1996. Became assistant prof at 1997, associate prof at 1998 and prof at 2004 at Hacettepe University department of internal medicine, section of endocrinology.
Served as a Fulbright scholar at mayo Clinic College of medicine at 2001 where he worked at the dept of biohemistry and molecular biology. Conducted studies on genetic aspects of metabolic bone diseases. Served as a visiting professor at Oxford university NHS trust, dept of neuropathology and endocrinology at 2006 where conducted studies on invasion mechanisms of pituitary adenomas. Main areas of interest are:Metabolic bone disease, osteoporosis, thyroid nodules, thyroiditis, diabetes treatment and complications. Has published 63 articles in international biomedical journals which were cited 634 times.
