Dr. Temizel graduated from Kastamonu Abdurrahman Paşa High School and Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine. She completed her speciality education at the Department of Child Health and Diseases of Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1998 and her sub-speciality on pediatric gastroenterology in 2001 and became associate professor in 2005. She became professor in 2011. Her professional interests include Chronic abdominal pain and Helicobacter pylori infection, chronic liver disease, glycogen storage diseases and motility disorders (constipation, reflux) as well as general gastroenterology diseases.
