Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology
All of the diagnosis and treatment methods recognized in modern orthopedics and traumatology are practiced by the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology. Having maintained its leading position in orthopedics and traumatology ever since its establishment, the department has made significant contributions to not only treatment services but also to medicine in Turkey and on the world. Having vast experience, the academic staff participated in international scientific congresses annually with major studies achieved. Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology is among the clinics with the highest number of national and international scientific publications in Turkey.
Our department provides service in Hacettepe Adult Hospital and Hacettepe İhsan Doğramacı Children's Hospital. Our department has 52 beds available in Hacettepe Adult Hospital. The rooms are single or double occupancy. Each room is equipped with telephone, WC, bathroom, TV and air conditioning. A total of 13 beds are available in Ward 32 located in Hacettepe İhsan Doğramacı Children's Hospital.
3 operating rooms of our clinic can offer service all days of the week. With its specialists and physician assistants, our outpatient clinic provides service to approximately 100 patients per day. Furthermore, a separate team is readily available in our clinic on a 24-hour basis for emergency care (traffic accidents, falls, etc.) so that required procedures are performed immediately upon patient’s arrival.

Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology is involved in a very wide range of diseases. All types of orthopedic diseases as well as skeletal/muscular system injuries are treated in our department. The academic staff of our department provides services in 4 groups specialized in specific diseases to ensure quality service.
Group A: Adult and pediatric spinal disorders, musculoskeletal tumors, foot and ankle conditions.
Group B: Sports injuries and arthroscopy, shoulder, arm, forearm, wrist and hand (upper extremity) injuries and disorders.
Group C: Adult reconstructive surgery (osteoarthritis, joint replacements, limb curvature, adult hip dislocation).
Group D: Pediatric age group (ages 0-18), musculoskeletal diseases and injuries, congenital or developmental disabilities (hip dislocation, clubfoot (pes equinovarus), etc.), protective hip joint surgeries, deformity corrective surgery, external fixation practices and pediatric spinal disorders.
Furthermore, each group gives treatment for general skeletal system injuries and fractures.
In our department, appointments for examination in outpatient clinic can be scheduled by dialing 444 4 444 on Mondays.
Examinations are given every day except Wednesdays, on which trainings are held. Appointments can be booked in circumstances given below:

Spinal Diseases, Tumor
Adult and pediatric spinal disorders, musculoskeletal tumors, foot and ankle conditions.
Sports Injuries, Hand Surgery
Sports injuries and antoscopy. Shoulder, arm, forearm, wrist and hand (upper extremity) injuries and disorders. Congenital brachial plexus palsy related to pediatric hand surgery.
Adult Reconstructive Surgery
Adult reconstructive surgery (osteoarthritis, joint replacements, limb curvature, adult hip dislocation).
Pediatric Orthopaedic Diseases
Pediatric age group (ages 0-18), musculoskeletal diseases and injuries, congenital or developmental disabilities (hip dislocation, clubfoot (pes equinovarus), etc.), protective hip joint surgeries, deformity corrective surgery, external fixation practices and pediatric spinal disorders.
Remarks
A total of 15 new patient appointments are allocated per day for examination. The number of control appointments is not restricted. Appointments can be booked starting from the morning by only personal application of patient or patient relative.
As it has been mentioned above, our physicians work in 4 groups: A, B, C and D. Each group provides outpatient clinic service one day a week.
Accordingly, the outpatient clinic examination days corresponding to the groups are as follows: Group A on Tuesday, Group B on Fridays, Group C of Mondays and Group D on Thursdays.
Patients receive their control examination from the same group they received examination/treatment from. Therefore, patients should take their groups into consideration while requesting appointment. Patients who do not know their groups can obtain information from the secretariat.
Outpatient Clinic of Orthopedics and Traumatology is located on ground floor (Floor Z) in Hacettepe Adult Hospital. Patients who have difficulty in walking are recommended to use door no. 7. to reach the outpatient clinic. Because, stretchers or wheelchairs as well as staff ready to assist are available at the entrance of door no. 7.
