In-Vitro Fertilization Unit
In-Vitro Fertilization Unit of Hacettepe University was established in 1991 and is regarded as one of the most essential and well-respected institutions of Turkey. It became the first in-vitro fertilization unit in Turkey and Europe to be affiliated to European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE). In-Vitro Fertilization Unit of Hacettepe University is located on the 2nd floor of Hacettepe University Adult Hospital 8th Block. The procedures of in-vitro fertilization are carried out by the academic staff, who complements a wider team composed of residents, nurses and technicians.

The center mainly deals with helping couples who cannot have children through in-vitro fertilization. The newest technological methods and devices are used to guarantee high rates of fertilization. In addition to in-vitro fertilization, the following methods are also applied in our department:
Ovary stimulus and insemination
Generating sperma out of testicles under microscope (Micro TESE), PESA, MESA, TESA.
Embryo freezing and preservation (cryopreservation)

Genetic analysis by extracting biopsy from the embryo (preimplantation genetic diagnosis)

In-vitro fertilization method is applied in our center to help couples who cannot have children. Insemination is also carried out. The procedures carried out during in-vitro fertilization have been summarized below in detail as a Q&A section.
For In-Vitro fertilization, our patients should first arrange a meeting with our doctors through the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Hacettepe University Adult Hospital. If the doctor decides to apply In-Vitro Fertilization following the examination of the Woman and the Man, the couple is transferred to the department of in-vitro fertilization. The treatment begins following the formalities.
